Summary:
The Producer is a key pillar of the Distillery leadership team, partnering with the Visual Effects Supervisor to lead the crew in fulfilling the Clients’ vision -- on time and on budget, while achieving the highest possible quality. Primary responsibilities are budget and schedule (in collaboration with the Client and Studio Management) and for managing the overall Client relationship.
Objectives:
• Meet with clients to review scripts, breakdowns, and storyboards for specific projects.
• Partner with Key Creatives to develop and plan the approach for accomplishing client goals and provide clients with estimates of budget & schedule requirements.
• Prepare bid letter, key dates and milestones, and assumptions for the work on specific projects.
• During production, serve as principal client contact for non-creative issues, tracking and reporting progress of work, budgeting and negotiating cost of work, and delivering cost/schedule changes to ensure client is updated as needed.
• Create, organize, and maintain the overall project schedule.
• Estimate project budgets and initiate cost controls for each production.
• Assist in casting and crewing projects, supervise assigned production staff and manage performance.
• Cast, crew, and oversee production from 3rd party vendors where appropriate
• Evaluate progress and profitability and work with management to provide early, consistent, and accurate reporting.
• Participate and oversee work on-set as required.
• Play a proactive role in marketing Distillery services to the industry.
• The role will likely require weekend work contingent on show schedules.
• The role may also require travel for client meetings and/or plate shoot.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Film or related field or equivalent work experience required.
• 5 years’ work experience in production management to include strong working knowledge of Visual Effects techniques and terminology.
• Proficiency with PCs and Macs, software including Microsoft Word and Excel; MS Project or other Project management software a plus.
• Must possess very strong organizational and communication skills and be able to handle a variety of tasks in an efficient manner while meeting deadlines.
• Shotgun software experience a plus.
